Sinclair method and Camperal! What Bac?

Hi Everyone,

This is one more attempt at controlling or totally obtaining from my enemy/friend!. Last year I tried Naltrexone and Camperal at different times and together. Then I found the Sinclair method, which I didn't last with as I kept drinking and made me fee like shit!. I am 47 and have been drinking for 30 years. Recently, the last 4 years I have drunk up to 2 bottles of wine plus, and that is normally alone, worse when I am out!! I have started an online program for women, which has been a great start.

So yesterday, home from the beach house, I just went and took both of the above meds, and started feeling ill. Anyway, it was my first AFD in 11 months. I don't want to go back to my addiction specialist. I am looking for some real advise on meds, cravings, supplements. Anything?

I look forward to hearing from anyone willing to help, I am also a great listener/reader!

Cheers Lizzie

Hi @Lizzy21. There are many of us here that were successful with Baclofen.  Some with TSM using Naltrexone, and a few other combinations.  Look around the site.  There's lots of good information on medications.  I would start by reading here http://www.theendofmyaddiction.org/forum/21-research/

We're glad you're here.  Good luck!

NAL can be hard if you take it too fast right off the bat.  If you actually look at how it works it can actually cause withdrawal symptoms so you need to taper off and be calm first.  The TSM method seems to work for a lot of people but I beleive in abstinence.  Campral is only helpful after 5-6 days off the liquor.  But I also drank 40oz of straight vodka a day so its a little different.

I'm not a doctor; i just have some experience with this.  Diazepam is the go to for most doctors in Canada.  Bac could work if the research papers are correct.  But I speak from dropping 40oz 80proof to 0 in a couple days.  Let me know how it goes for you if you choose BAC.

@Lizzy21 you could be me 3 years ago, except I was older when I started on the slippery slope.  Now 3 years sober on baclofen.

Good luck with your journey & keep us posted.
