As a few of you might know I've became indifferent in 2015 and 2016 but lost my switch for various reasons.

ive tried titrating up on 2 different occasions,but it didn't work.Im now on 175,should I continue to go up?

It should be easy to reach your switch dose again,but it doesn't seem that way.There Just doesn't seems to be any information since the demise of mywayout

I don't think it's easy. When I lost indifference at 250, I had to go to 310 to find it again. I'm currently abstinent and am going to stay that way. If I do drink, I'll take naltrexone. I will never again take it for granted. Stress will cause relapse. For me, Baclofen didn't magically do it all the second time around. I have to make better choices.  I recently tried tittering back down to 250. I had cravings and titrated back up so quickly I ended up in the hospital with a Baclofen OD. Not fun.

I wish I spoke French as that forum is a wealth of information. I use a translated site but have never tried posting.

@Mom2JTx3

im now up to 175 again when my last switch was 160.I just crave that total indifference that I had the 2 times before.

Im thinking of adding naltrexone to the mix as to be honest I'm thinking that Baclofen is not the miracle cure I thought it was which is quite depressing.

Nal is an interesting thing.  If you do drink you know you are just wasting money and gonna look like an idiot. It does kill the urge to continue so alcohol does work just be careful not to try to overdrink it because sometimes stress will push us.  You still get drunk symptoms, but its not so much fun.  Over drinking NAL leaves you still with the 40oz Flu like symptoms.  Alcohol still affects you on NAL.  I currently am stock piling nal and have about 700$ worth for preventative measures in dire straights.  Its very expensive where I live so thats about 90 pills.  I think its roughly 8.33$ per pill when I did the math last.

@Nicnak Bac frightened me but I probably used it too fast and had read about the withdrawals so my prescription for it was not enough to maintain or find the switch.  I find Mirtazapine and Naltrexone do some calm and even leveled things for me, but everyone is different.

It's still pretty darn miraculous as I couldn't go ONE day AF prior to Baclofen and hadn't for years. My second switch was 25+% higher than my original switch. Using that logic, you would be looking at 200 mg

edit to add that I don't think it unusual to have to go higher if indifference is lost, just based on what I've read over the years

@Mom2JTx3 I need to see my specialist so I can get quantities that will work as 30mg didn't cut it.  He takes time to see and the appointments are months apart and I will test BAC again in July if he says "go" and gives me enough to test it out.  What is BAC OD like?

Hi Nicnak, glad to hear you are trying again - Hope the bowels are better this time?

I certainly believe that most addictions, come back harder after relapse. For this reason, I would not be surprised if a higher Baclofen intensity would be required this time.

Hi Mom, rather like the German forum, they take posts in English. The French forum is difficult to register on, however I have a login if you want to use it?

As Mom highlighted, it is not a laughing matter. This is why I would recommend if people miss a dose they wait until the next one is due. If during this time they experience withdrawal they can consume. I have experienced withdrawal (twice, both at 16 hours) and it is manageable with an intake, however I know several folks who have overdosed and it is not a pretty sight!

30 mg is hardly likely to have any effect. You may feel the odd SE (somnolence/finger shocks) but any alcohol suppression qualities are unlikely. I am not familiar with Canadian prescription protocols but you may be wise targeting an alcohol specialist?

@Baclofenman 30mg was all my GP was confident enough to test and figure out how I reacted.  Gave all the paperwork, he never had the time too read.  He may have by now.  Surviving white knuckling with the odd slip here and there; which REALLY sucks!!!  I pray again to have 6mo AF.  Nal does null it but not as expected as a drug of hope to solve alcoholism, it is not and its super expensive.  I am definitely not against NAL by any means.  The cottage industry of rehab (Its now mega billions, so not cottage) only preach AA.  Well that doesn't cut it.  If you knew which drugs I have put in my body over the last 20-25 year I think they leave an everlasting effect and its not simply coming off one to switch to another.  Super hybrids from a pharma co likely to test illegally.  Its a hybrid of combinations; we are the sum of what we have done.  I am willing to try Bac at high dose if the doctor is willing to try.  Desperation is a strange thing.  Using naltrexone, campral and mirtazapine I managed about 6+ months.  Hard lapse when I stopped some of them.  Campral is meant as means for 30 days to a year after your initial recovery.  Nal is done daily in Canada instead of Dr. Sinclair's method.  I completely kill it when and if I drink.  NAL does wierd things at first, but if you can grin and bear it, it's awesome eventually.  Less crazy than the affect BAC had off the hop; but I did not use anything crazy for years before so even slight adjustments made me worry.  I need to approach BAC the same way as I did NAL and trust it will normalize as it nulled me to the point of stupidity at the way I titrated it, as well with fear of not having enough for the come down.
